The clinic

Welcome to the Dental Clinic Gazel, the first and only clinic in Costa Rica, specializing in Geriatric Dentistry (Elderly).

The Geriatric Dentistry is the dental specialty that focuses on care for the elderly, dealing with the prevention, cure and rehabilitation oral diseases of the elderly. Its main objective is the study of aging through the oral clinical and basic research, to provide a firmer foundation in making clinical decisions, allowing development based on research.

Studies indicate that oral and dental health can indicate the status of all your general health. The lack of dental hygiene causes a high risk of disease in the elderly.

A healthy mouth is important for the elderly and enable them to continue interacting with dignity in society, helps prevent diseases that are so common at this age, such as malnutrition, cardiovascular disease, lung disease, kidney infections, etc..

Moreover, its role is limited to ensure good nutrition and health in general, but a healthy mouth, functional and aesthetic losses prevents the already common in this age group, thus, for example, to avoid depression.

For this reason, we created this website in an attempt to contribute to the improvement of oral health and therefore quality of life for our elderly.
